Hi everyone! I’m super stoked with my recent unicorn find!! He’s a 1985 Deluxe (auto) with <85K miles, 100%complete and operational. I’m here to learn from you all and establish a network for the inevitable questions I will have and problem that just will arise. I bought him 2 weeks ago on eBay.
If you want to follow his “glow-up” and new life you can find him on IG at _Salty_85_

Welcome to the forum! Depending on what you're looking for, this forum can be the best place to find answers. Other times (like when looking for parts or fast answers) the Facebook page is better because it's so much more popular. But there is still a handful of devouts who regularly check in here, myself included.

That is a nice low-mileage car. It may need minor fixes to become a mint condition car, but it looks good already! And I still recommend to check fluids according to instructions found from this forum due to age of the car.

@Nordical25 - thanks. Am checking all the fluids and doing all the standard changes just to get my own interval schedule going. I found the manual in here (thank goodness).

Re: Salty85 has arrived!
Great! Sounds like a plan. I have bought four of these cars altogether. And every single one has had so far old black gear oil. And same applies to differential oil too. The service manual is really good to have. Even some workshops do not know how to change fluids of Tercel 4wd. So in some cases doing things by yourself is even better choice.Desert Duckie wrote: Thu Dec 26, 2024 10:48 am @Nordical25 - thanks. Welcome DD,
We are glad to have you in the group and will help any way we can. The automatics are fewer, but we can still help some. Enjoy!
