Coolant Temperature Switch Question

Post by ARCHINSTL »

Has anyone had a problem with the Coolant Temperature Switch, which is mounted next to the TVSV? I'm still trying to track down the RPM cycing problem of which I've posted (haven't worked on the car for a few days, as I have the luxury of deciding to not work in rain any longer - no garage).

This is about the last item with which I have not fiddled, and I have seen posts in other Toyota locations about RPM issues when that switch was faulty/coolant level too low. Of course, those were on more "sophisticated/newer" various models than ours, but heck, the switch is there, and it does go to the mysterious-never-mentioned-in-the-wonderful-FSM-ECU, so I thought it might have some bearing on my situation.
Thanks,
Tom M.

The one right by the tvsv is just a temperature sensor that goes to the gauge on the dash. I don't think it has any other role.
