ISO: Sun Visors

Post by nessanater »

Both of my sun visors have broken at the plastic part that has two screws holding it onto the ceiling, that the arm goes through. If anyone has a couple extra, one for driver and passenger side, I'd love to buy them. Or if anyone knows where I may purchase them, let me know. I'm way out down by Astoria, OR, so there aren't any salvage yards within easy distance that have a 1985 Tercel SR5 (dark blue) sitting in them. I'll happily pay any shipping costs as well.
And thoughts on rear exhaust pipe and muffler? My muffler has a significant hole in it.
How about a 4AC engine? My understanding is that I should be able to switch out my 3AC for 4AC, no problem?
Thanks for any help in advance.

the 4ac engine swap is straight forward, but you have to swap a lot of parts over from the 3ac. almost all of the external parts (mounts, water pump, oil pan, intake/exhasut, etc) has to be switched as well as the flywheel. Everything will bolt up, but it is a job bigger than just doing an engine change.

I might have some visors, I will check over the week end.

Go to any muffler shop to get the exhaust fixed, it does not have to have a toyota muffler. better get it fixed soon, it will allow exhaust into the car, and will also leave corrosive deposits all under the car causing it to rust out faster.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I've checked prices for the muffler and rear pipe at a few places. Seemed pretty cheap, sounds like I need to move ahead sooner rather than later.
Engine is just a long term pipe dream. Should probably worry more about my leaking head gasket for the moment.

@ nessanater -
When you do the exhaust system - take the time and spend a few bucks and clean, then spray and allow to cure the whole installation with RustOleum's Hi-Temp (BBQ) paint. It saves mucho external rust - and with nothing to flake into your face when under the car later on.
I did Goldie's in 2012 and it is just pristine to this day.

a head gasket replacement can be done in 4 hours with $30 worth of parts. Replacing the engine is at least an all day project, more like two days, and much more costly.
