SO .......How Is EVERY ONE
It seems as though it has been awhile .awhile since I have had peace and tranquility with my finicky friend .matter of fact II HAVE NEVER HAD PEACE. but let's get to business shall we .
Riddle me this fellow tercenese .what won't time, won't lean out, won't act like the fuel sipping ,low cost automotive Shang ri La chariot I am constantly being told by strangers it should be .
Hint :it belongs to me .
But seriously folks anyone out there on this inter-tercellar planet got a remedy for my symptoms .
Also this might be helpful .after my latest timing debacle. I got it timed per FSM .but forgot to reattach tbe (plugged )vac lines to dizzy .now ,when I hook up the upper hose it makes no difference but the lower hose when hooked up makes idle spike dramatically. Ok there you have it , my inadequacy as a master tercer is out there for everyone to gawk at .woe is me .
I used to laugh at the man with a pinto  , until I became a humble servicer of a tercel :|

Those hoses are attached to the distributor vacuum advance. The diaphragms in the vac advance can be bad. To test suck on hose to one port while blocking the others. If there is no pressure the diaphragm is bad for that port.
That being said it still might not be what your problem is

The idle should go up when hose is reattached
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.
