Rear fogs? I dunno if any had that, but it'd be nice to get some more lumens into that backup light (though it does beat the hell out of our Geo's backup light)
I think the German version had sport-seats. Lemme look at my brochure real quick........

(I forgot just how sexy that German car looks....)

Looks as though it wasn't standard, and I can't read enough Deutsch to see if it was optional. But that front bumper and airdam are sure eyecandy.

The bumper/dam are pretty cool.
I'll work on translating the brochure. but the page heading is something similar to "How your Tercel can appear, you can design it to your taste".
I noticed this lack of light last night; oddly, it was never a factor in my then-new'83; could it be my eyes have changed? Of course, it was also quite an improvement compared to the vision available of that car's predecessor, a '69 VW Bus
It should not be a big deal to just add a light or two below the rear bumper. Maybe there is even a way to install some in the bumper itself, although that would be for more daring folk than me.

Give a boy a gun-give a biatch a cell phone-and pretty soon you almost got yourself a police state.

I had never heard of either bilberries or the jam's properties before, despite being a Battle of Britain buff. Two short Googles on the subject are informative:During WWII, pilots used bilberry jam to improve their night vision.

While I would like to take heart from takza's note, I fear the difference from 1983 to 2005 is the encroachment of age...

Re the German Tercel offering:
What is that longitudinal bar at the roofline? A form of roof rack / tie-down bar?
Actually, that seems to make the car look longer, and kinda de-emphasizes the high roof line. Much more attractive than the USA rack, but possibly less functional.
Do any of you French owners have this type?
Also, first I've seen in a blackish color - if the AC is ever operable again, Goldie may become Blackie...but a big part of the more aggressive countenance may be the bumper/dam.
