Changing out rear end instead of tranny in 85

I just bought a 85 sr5 6sp manual that has a 83 tranny in it, so it wont work in 4wd.
Having a hard time find the transfer case for the 4.1 rear end.
So can anyone tell me if I put a rear end in from a 83-4 it would solve my mismatch?
If so does anyone have a 3.73 rear end for sale?

Correct, if you replaced the rear diff it would work.
