I have owned this car for 22 years and am the second owner. How would you like to be the third? It has never been in an accident, never let me down in cold and snow or hot, high and dry. That is why I have been so reluctant to let it go.
But I must. At 300,000 miles I needed a new clutch. Routine work, but not always on a classic car such as this. About $2,500 and a couple of years later I am ready to pass her on to a more mechanically minded owner. When the transmission was mounted back on the car one of the selector rods must have been misaligned, as there is a clack when the clutch is engaged.
Included in the price is the original transmission and difficult to find input bearing. This could be fixed easily, I am told. Couldn't find anyone to do it for me on the cheap, and I have moved on and bought another old car.
