Today in the afternoon the '84 didn't want to start so I'm assuming a low battery. The battery is old so we decided to push it outside... I was pushing from the left rear side and I accidently pushed the car on the broken tail light and (plastic crunching noises) the other part of the unbroken tail light broke in half. A piece of that pierced my hand, not that painful but it does sting for a while... So now it's sitting outside with no battery and is going to be punished by not getting fixed until the weekend.
Luckily, I called a junkyard and the guy told me that he would let me in as long as I didn't tell him my real age. It's somewhere out in San Bernardino and supposedly has a Tercel 4WD. I asked him if he would sell the whole car but refused. I started whining and at the end he said that if I went over there he might consider selling the whole car, not bad? So, either I buy the whole car (not likely unless I tell my parents to play Lotto Scratchers and they win 10 grand) or I can go buy as many parts as I can from them (more likely).

Man.. At this point, attempt to consolidate usable parts from both Terc's to make 1 working Terc (you can buy the parts for the spare one later) and spend your money on a remanufactured engine, be it 3 or 4AC.

The only junkyard I know of in San Bernardino proper(not Fontana, Rialto, etc) is Pick A Part, and they have one 4wd Tercel Wagon and one 2wd Tercel Wagon. They are both blue I believe. Good luck.

Probably, because I have been adding up some part quotes for what I think I will need for the '83 and it comes up to be around $1142 on just parts and NOT including tax. The way things are going I don't know what's going to happen... not good. Might even end up with no Terc's.Typrus wrote: Man.. I got a quote for a remanufactured 4A-C for $1445 or something like that. I told the guy, "Wait a minute, I think I'm having a heart attack, no I'm just kidding lol. But he said that supposedly they even put a new crankshaft and camshaft or so he says, basically a brand new engine from the inside. I been getting all sorts of quotes for rebuilt and remanufactured 3A-C's from $595-$1445. The median was about $650.
I was rummaging through the old records from the '84 and I added up both records for engine work from 2000 and it comes up to be $2800! The previous owner really liked this car, had it been someone else and it would of probably gone to the salvage yard.
