86 sr5 - selling parts (you pull), or whole car for $200

it is with some sadness that i announce that my pal dylan is pulling the plug on reggie, the first tercel i rescued.



the captive nuts for both control arms have recently broke free and dylan doesn't want to bother with getting it repaired. so the car is either going to be sold as a project/parts car, or parts will be sold individually. i am posting this to see if there is much interest here in either option.

unfortunately, i am recovering from a recent back injury and unable to pull any parts so if anyone wants them, they have to come get them. i'm in shawnigan lake on vancouver island.

the car has somewhere around 280,000 kms on it. lots of superficial rust but the frame is good. trans, rear diff, and engine all in good shape but engine has some oil leaks. front brake pads and rotors replaced about a year ago. interior is ok. has inclinometer, sr5 dash cluster, new stereo, wiring for sub, sr5 alloy wheels, roof racks. no alternator, dylan just replaced it a few weeks ago so he's going to return it. he wants $200 if you take the whole car away. it would need to be towed.

That's really sad if this car is getting scrapped. I hope someone can salvage it. It is too far away for me to even consider. Is the body much worse than in this photo? Are you posting it on usedVictoria in case someone not on this site sees it?

What did you do to your back?

i don't think the car will end up scrapped. too much good stuff still on it. i won't let it die yet!

not sure what's up with my back. my physio is positive i herniated a disc so i'm waiting for some further investigations. i'm still functioning but i have to take it pretty easy for a few months, it seems.

The green and black beauty behind Reggie looks pretty nice. I'm in Alberta and I have 83 Tercel Wagon 4WD that's rusted quite badly. I'm on the look out for a pristine wagon to drive summer and have my 83 during winter. If you hear of one let me know.

thanks jim. that's an old pic so the black and green tercel in the background was sold to forum member glet71 a few years back. there are more pics of it kicking around here. here are a few.







mint tercels pop up here occasionally, usually on the vancouver craigslist, so check it regularly. i haven't seen one for a while but they're still around. washington state seems to have a lot of nice ones so if you're up for the possible hassle of importing one, you can go that route. some people have had no problems bringing them to canada, some have had ordeals.
