This forum is for cars that run, or at least are close to running. This isn't for parting out complete cars.

I always love those kinds of ads. Going on and on about how this is new, that works, runs excellent, even the 4WD works, but needs a new transmission.

ditto, paul. i guess it makes sense to put the bad things last in an ad so you hook people first rather than scare them off right away but i think a bad trans is a deal breaker. i think they would be better off to mention the deal breaker first and then follow up with all the good stuff. end it on a good note.

Also the 4WD doesn't technically work if the transmission is shot!

....ditto ditto... and how does it get 30mpg if it needs to be towed? obviously referring to the car in theory or pre-trans-failure.

Is it just me or does it seem like there's a glut of AL25's on the market with bad transmissions?

My neighbor's son bought one a few months back to replace an 86 dlx that went to the crusher because it had a bad trans and he didn't want to fix it. The one he just bought, trans went out the day he got it.
