How can I tell gear ratio in front transaxle/rear diff, how
I am swapping a standard transmission from a 87 4wd into my 85 4wd. Problem is I am not sure if my trans is stock gearing 4.11 in the 85, I know its supposed to be unless someone changed it so I should check to be safe. Also it was manufactured in Nov. 84 I'm guessing it was still made with 85 4.11 gearing? Anyways how to I tell difference from 3.73 or 4.11 gear ratio on the front transaxle & the rear diff? How many teeth ect or a number somewhere to I look for?
