It's "art stucco". I hate the ugly housing here! I miss my cement basements and pitched roofing! Coming from east canada to this makes these houses feel like slums to me. I mean... flat roofing? To me that screams bad idea. (especially since our living room leaked and wrecked half the ceiling to boot)
you have one daily driver each, and one spare each. why you drive around in 30 years old cars you need to have at least one spare (and two would be better). Now you need at least one or two parts cars too! than you will never be stuck waiting for parts to arrive.
That style of home was popular in the southwest, kind of a "pueblo" style. the more elaborate larger ones are trimmed out a little nicer. the stucco exterior is more durable in hot and dry climates. flat roofs are always a bad idea if you get any rain, they are always trouble here in the rainy Pacific Northwet. In New Mexico, Arizona and west Texas roof leaks are only an occasional inconvenience.
