the total bill from the exhaust shop was around $200, that also included the hangers and a couple of vibration isolators (rubber mounts), and welding in the new muffler and cat (I purchased the muffler and cat through Summit for around $150.00). so $350.00-ish for the whole system.

At 222,222 miles the original heater core gave up the ghost. Also had a little strut knock from the right front (Monroe Sensi-Trac), and a leaking inner axle seal (I buggered it on the install). Strut was under warranty, did the left side while I was at it, heater core cost me $60.00, the seal was $12.00 (plus 1 qt of MTL $14.00). Should be ready for the next few hundred thousand in a day or two :D

MTL Redline in a hypoid gear set? MTL is only rated up to GL4. Most hypoid gearset makers require GL5 as a minimum as does the T4wd FSM. That's why I run Redline 75w90 NS in the T4wd manual trans it is designed to work in transaxles like ours. GL4 is not designed to cope with the wiping/shear issues involved win a hypoid gearset.

Took a few extra hours to take apart all the duct work and wash with a bleach/dish soap mix after finding a mouse house in the AC box. Thanks to sdoan for the Heater Core write up, and 4wdchico for the trans lube correction! Trans and rear diff freshly flushed. Air ducts freshly flushed. Looking forward to breathing a little easier :D

Special thanks to Gottalovem, and Florrykitty for the set of factory 13" Pizza Box alloys.

Got the first one back from the wheel shop today. Here's the same wheel before and after the refurb.

TSP wash, media blast, machine the outer edges, cleaning up gouges and dings by hand, paint and clear coat. Around $100 per wheel. (A bargain if you consider finding an original 13" alloy in this condition).

Nice work Mad_Marx. BTW I was hoping you would make a post apocalyptic Tercel police pursuit interceptor that sucks nitros and is the last of the great Japanese 4 cylinders by now - just to go with your name.

If I were to have such a car, I'd be waiting for the apocalypse to happen before I roll it out ;)

Did some repair work on the center caps. The metal retainer clip ring is held to the cap wit melted plastic mounting pins. Some of them were barely hanging on. I used a little JB Weld to reinforce the attachment points.
