loosing a part like that out of a gear cluster can not be a good thing. Are the adjoining parts so worn that something like that can just fall out? The "clutch hub assy" is part of the sycro system, and it does not surprise me your trans is acting like the sycro is gone with that part missing. Having the sycro is not necessary to drive and use the trans, but it means you have to double clutch on both up shifts and down shifts into that gear. So only put it in first when at full stop, or learn to double clutch it.

The real hazard when something comes loose like that is that it could end up getting caught somewhere else and trashing the whole gear cluster. So I guess it was a good thing it came free without doing other damage.

Where are the other two lurking?
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

I was afraid there was a whole ring of them, like rollers on a roller bearing.
