Re: Another Seattle AL25 member
Last night I installed my modified flasher and the LED's. When I tested it the flash rate had increased dramatically. It was as fast as a strobe. So I put the unmoddified flasher back in.

I think the mistake I made was to wire in the two capacitors in parallel rather than series. So I'll be changing that and trying again.

I like it, kind of cool. not sure if it meets some federal regulations, but it would be kind of awesome to be able to switch it over to that speed should you want to draw extra attention to yourself.

Re: Another Seattle AL25 member
I suppose the fast rate could be useful when I'm on a search and rescue mission. I could wire it into a toggle switch.

Re: Another Seattle AL25 member
you need a siren to go with the high flash rate.

Re: Another Seattle AL25 member
My steering had been really loose and had been causing the wheel to wobble. For awhile there the steering was also getting tight as if it were binding somehow, so today I replaced the steering rack, pump and tie rod ends. Now everything is tight and much more predictable.

Re: Another Seattle AL25 member
This morning I went out to my car and pulled the lines off the new steering rack so that I could install the O-rings that were referenced in the Factory Service Manual.
Once I got the lines off I realized that they were flare fittings just like what is on brakes. Also they weren't leaking at all it was just some residual oil from me draining them. So I am just going to leave them the way they are without any O-rings. I'll keep an eye on them and make sure they don't leak. It just seams silly to put an O-ring on a flare fitting.
In other news: I took on the freeway today and got it up to speed and it is tracking straight and there is no wobble or play in the wheel. I still need to get the alignment done but I'm pretty happy with how close I was able to get it by eye.

Re: Another Seattle AL25 member
I've been hearing a jingle from underneath my car lately. I've had it up on ramps several times to try to locate something loose that might be causing the sound, but can't find anything. Any ideas or suggestions?

Re: Another Seattle AL25 member
front exhaust pipe bracket that comes off the bell housing has a metal clamp. It often works loose and than jingles. It will sounds like it is under the passengers feet. Also, check your heat shielding on the exhaust sysetm, and there are clamps on the freash air inlet to the catalyst that can also jingle.

I haven't used photo bucket in about 9 years. I didn't even know it was still a thing. I've always used the forum to upload pics from my phone. Never any problems.

Unfortunately we didn't have the ability to upload direct back in the day so we had to use a third party. I fear a lot of work is now lost.
