Want To Buy: Vacuum Switchs

Post by The Professor »

I just discovered that the electrical wire that activates vacuum switch "B" has been severed where the wire enters the switch.

Does anyone have a good, working vacuum switch? I need the one that is closest to the passenger front corner of the engine bay.

Ah, damn, I might have just scrapped all of mine, but I'll look. If I did end up getting rid of them, BAMF should have them.

I was going to try to fix the one on my wagon, but the wire literally broke off right at the tip of the rubber cap! I would never have noticed the missing wire if I hadn't seen the lonely green connector with a wire leading to nothing...

I made the trek to the only local yard that had a Tercel within 100 miles and, low and behold, the engine bay had been nearly stripped bare. Anyone have spare vacuum switches? PLEASE?!?

What's it look like? If it's for some emissions stuff, I think I have most of that stuff in a box somewhere .

There's two vacuum switches that mount on the passenger's side strut tower, next to the washer fluid/coolant overflow tanks. A single wire out the top of each with a single vacuum port on the bottom. You can see them both in this image. The two little yellow widgets with black caps on the left side of the image, surrounded by the intake snorkel, overflow tank and strut tower.

I need the switch that is mounted on the left side of the picture above. I'm not sure if the switches are different or not. Thanks for looking through your parts for me!

Alright. I'll check first thing as soon as I get off work. If my wife hasn't thrown anything away behind my back, I should have those.

Well, I know that I did for sure have them, now they are no longer there. My wife threw all my emissions stuff out a few months back. If no one else chimes in with one, I'll see if I can get some time to run to the junkyard and check to see if there is anything out there for ya.

They def. are different (at least on the Fed emissions- I see you have the Calif. emissions.) One has a green electrical plug, the other a black one. Which do you need? I've got 'em both.
if it aint there, there's a good chance it won't break!
