The car should be saved, please DO NOT part it out.
There are means in most states that allow you get a car registered without paper work. It allows someone to legally put an abandoned car back on the road. You basically have an abandoned car on your property.
In my state (Washington), you have to pass an inspection and records check, to make sure it is safe and not stolen. You send a registered letter to the last known address of the registered owner, and if you get no resonance within 3 weeks, you get a "provisional title". It allow you to drive it legally, but the registered owner has 2 years to make a claim of ownership. After 2 years you get issued a regular title.
If the car is derivable I can get a temp transport registration to drive it home, and than go through the necessary legal steps. they are not that complicated. I would be happy to give it a try if I can fly there and drive it back without having to do a lot repairs.

T4WD augury?

I got plan tickets to arrive in Reno on Feb 8th, we go sking the next day, and than I will drive it back home. fun little ski trip, and rescuing a T4wd at the same time. mid week flights are cheap, and I used some flight miles I had accumulated, so tickets were only $5.
that year of T4wd has seats that only came in the '86 model year (diagonal pattern on the inner panels), and they would be brown in color. Blue just would not look right.
