On my inclinometer the horizontal level is right, but my fore/aft level is stuck at around +10deg. The lock knob will only go about 1mm counterclockwise before it springs back to straight up. My adjust knob has no effect. Can I just unscrew the faceplate and tinker around in there, or is there another way? Once I open it up, what do I need to look for? Any help would be appreciated.

I took it apart and it seems like the springs are worn and loose. The movements of the weights have no effect on the dials. I was able to at least straighten out the dial but I don't know that it will actually work. Does anyone have any suggestions about fixing it, or should I get another one?
