The fuel and engine temp gauges are not working
As the proud owner of the 87 4wd AL-25 i decided an upgrade in my 4wd capabilities was in order; installing a tiltometer (almost certainly a placebo) off a dying sr5
The tiltiometer i wired up to the appropriate wires for the light functions; all works fine, but after fiddling with the gauge cluster the fuel the engine teemp gauges stoped workin.
The problem is not a loose plug at the back as we took it out and tried all the conections, the actual gauges themsleves seem fine, as tested on a 9 volt battery
Also the engine temp resistor works fine when tested on a mulitmeter
I concentrated on the engin temp wire, which would be a positive signal when ignition iss on??
i dont understand how the power is supplyed to/from the tmperature resistor, and maybe thats my problem
But the jist i got was that maybe a poistive supply to the gauges or resistor got pulled out deep under the dash, while it was being moved, if so i will re route power from the stereo (on acc)
Any insite into this problem would be appriciated cheers
