atv tires on 14 inch rims on tercel

So I was wondering what everyone would suggest for atv tires on a 4wd tercel? size wise? and also could i fit 12 inch rims on my 84 or would i have to stick with 14s. I can find a ton of 26x8x14 tires. this is not for daily driving but more for going to car meets and having something off the wall and also the occasional orv park visit. Also wondering if anyone has tried fender flares on these or triming the wheel wells? thinking of maybe unfolding the part of the fender that wraps into the well and then welding it so it has a flare to it. anyways any suggestions would be awesome

lots of wheel and tire combos have been tried, large off road "mudders" have even been fit to the TErcel4wd. Going too large is kind of useless because the small underpowered engine can not drive them.

cleaning the wheel wells is not a bad idea, but unless your fenders are rusty and beat up, I would not do anything to alter the extant appearance if the car because it will decrease its resale value. if they are beat up or rusty anyway, than have at it, it may improve the value to cut off all the rust.
