Hey Guys,
Just to confirm, the 19-1010 fits all years ('83-'87) yokes, right? I know 83-84 had different assembly, but I am guessing Toyota used same U-joint bearing set up in same yoke. My '83 manual steering has this exact issue.

i rebuild a lot of steering shafts using that joint,i have only run across two different cap sizes a 15mm and 16mm. all the Toyotas I have done all use the 16mm cap, the 15 is in the fords and dodge stuff

Re: Steering momentarily locked-up, mid-turn
Thanks jimcrazy! Good to know.
Update: went with eBay OEM Kawasaki spider (49050-1055). Worked great. One warning if you are doing this for the first time like I was: only drive/hammer/press the new caps so they are flush with the yoke shoulder. I pressed the caps about 1/16" into the yoke and the u-joint swivel action was super stiff. Basically as bad as it was before I replaced the spider! Luckily I was able to take a punch to the lip of the bottom of the cap and and hammer it back out from the inside.
