Flat tire

Post by Belen »

Hello, I have a flat tire, but I cannot replace it because the car is missing the wrench. Any ideas on where I can order one online, and/or what the specs of said wrench are? Is it standard for all cars?

Stock lug nuts use a 13/16" or 21mm socket. If you have the goofy keyed lug nuts then you have to get tricky.

Thanks so much! I have just contacted someone locally who claims to own three and is willing to sell one to me :-)

I usually carry a breaker bar with the correct size socket, more compact and the breaker bar handle is useful for other repairs.

What he wrote!
If you don't have a breaker bar just for the car - scour yard sales or ever Harbor Freight; the latter will certainly be strong enough for lug nuts. Go with an 18" size. AZ or O'T or ADV will also sell single individual sockets to keep one mounted on it - 21mm as I recall (too darn cold to go out and look!).
