Repaired fuel smell from purge line

Post by Travelswithteri »

Double posting sorry :?

Good repair to look into though....

I had a fuel smell that was getting worse and worse. I finally traced it to the hose coming off the purge valve on the charcoal canister, which gets rid of excess fuel fumes (to the best of my knowledge :? )
The hose was way old and melted onto the canister and into itself. (i never noticed this before? Embarassing... )

Easy repair, just needed to buy a pre-bent hose, remove the melted rubber and the rest is straightforward
18$ fix! :D

I suppose the canister is old enough to need a cleaning / replacement, but that is for another day..
