wanted: transmission in PNW
I just posted more details on the repair section but the short story is my daughter is in WA state and just lost the transmission in her 1985 T4WD (6 sod manual transmission). Hoping to find someone in that region that has a tranny they want to sell…..?? I'm not in the area so trying to help her from afar.

Re: wanted: transmission in PNW
when the tranny runs low on oil due to leaking seals the input shaft being at the highest point gets starved first and when it goes it takes out the gear it drives .
i usually have an extra tranny but do not have one now and i live near Bremerton, WA
i wonder what the chances are that i could get the broken tranny for parts
used ones at wrecking yards run from 200 (pull it yourself) to 800 if you can find one

Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

Re: wanted: transmission in PNW
xirdneh,
Thanks for the reply. As far as I know, my daughter's car was not leaking, but that may have developed since I last saw it. At this point, I don't know what will become of the car, but if we scrap it, I'll certainly let folks here know. I''d like to try to save the car (she loves it) and the current tranny could find its way to you.

Synth,
Thanks so much, my daughter was/is in the process of posting to this site to scrap the car--- I will send you a PM. I have no idea what failed other than that the shop told us the input shaft and the gears were stripped.
Edit: just sent you an email (not a PM) via this site.
