Did you try this for Toy OE bushings? It is a sticky in the OE Parts Numbers Forum.

Drege, You will have to buy those bushings from a dealer or the polyurethane source someone refers to here. Aftermarket parts stores don't carry those bushings.

Mark, The alignment shop would not have touched the castle nuts on the tie rods when doing the alignment. The sleeve to the inner tie rod is loosened and rotated to adjust toe.

sway bar to control arm bushings are readily available through any toyota dealership. expensive, but still there.

Man this is hairy!
I been chasing my tail all day, and I know how to find things.
Got my old ones off, down to bare bones sway bar, its not nearly as bad as viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7481&p=79257&hilit= ... ngs#p79257 but could definately use replacing.

Tomorrow I'm gonna call toyota dealerships as mentioned; If I can't get any at any cost I'll consider salvage or jerry-rigg = I was thinking about casing the old ones in new rubber.

i think the hole in the rubbers is beat a bit over sized, make up 2 new tubes bigger on the outside to fit the rubbers and about 1/4" shorter so they will pull up tighter, they look in way better shape then the ones i changed out in my old wagon

I know, they are pretty good looking, but the inner bushings (the ones with the steel ring cast into he rubber) are worn down to the inner ring, on thew passenger side there was noticeable wiggle of the sway bar end inside of the socket hole in the center of the lower control arm.
When i got it it had drift at 70+mph, after the other day it was much worse.
I called butler indianna toyota that ARCHINSTL posted about back in 2007, dude in service department don't have the complete sway bar bushing kit in stock but claims its obtainable, I'm gonna get them locally, maybe I'll put it back together with some tire sidewall rubber sandwiched in with it while I'm waiting for parts to be shipped from where ever they are housed, I'm happy to pay $50 for new OE parts.

Someone said somewhere to use electrical conduit to substitute the collars, this is funny, I have a bunch of 2" lengths of 1/2 conduit laying about from another project.

No dealer had them in stock (nor did Butler back then), but one or more of the Toy warehouses did.
The biggest reason I have shopped at Butler over the years was because the various parts guys over the years did not laugh or snicker at someone wanting parts for a 30-year old econobox. Its pricing was a plus, of course.
Others have said that Conicelli in PA and Village in FL are equally helpful, with similar good prices.
NONE of the STL Metro dealers were interested in even searching for the parts - and that is 11 dealers!

What was the condition of the bar's ends? A cursory glance at the condition of the tubes would seem to indicate they were not necked down.
All new is better - do it once and never worry about it again.

Amen Tom! I plan on keeping up on this thing as well as I can no expenses spared either until I'm dead or its taken from me.
Dude finaly emailed me back.
Here are the prices for the Tercel parts.

Cushion (48674-16030) $18.39 each

Cushion (48675-16041) $15.29 each

Collar (90387-14007) $9.74 each

Washer (90206-14048) $1.03 each

Nut (94184-61400) $2.82 each
So a little more pricy than back in '07 and '11 but totally worth it.

Put it all back together, with 1/2 conduit cut to custom length to account for the wear of the bushings, roughly 3/32 shorter on the passenger side, metal to rubber surface wire brushed and high temp greased.
the 'torque steer' or whatever it's called is gone, it no longer shoots across the lane, I think I maxed at 70MPH, but I can feel the worn bushings still.

you can make a 1/4" thick rubber washer to put in the stack up as well, under the big washer. It also has the benefit of pushing the lower are forward a bit and increases castor, making the steering a bit more firm but more importantly making feel for solid as well (tracks better, stays pointing straight ahead better, very stable for highway driving).

I have done this as my bushings got old squishy and it helps a lot. easy to make one, or just go though the standard parts racks in the auto parts store to find something close enough to fit.

I am starting to feel I need to finally replace mine (I had the alignment done today and they guy recommended it, said there was a fair amount of movement at this joint even with my rubber washer in there). Are the polyurethane replacement bushings still available? Has anyone ordered any recently?

I just looked at that partznet web site and I couldn't find the outer sway bar bushings. Maybe I missed it.
