Looks like it's got some good parts left in it. Anyone here close enough to Portland to grab those alloys for me?

mark and paul, i'm surprised you guys like the 87/88 sr5 alloys so much. when i got my first terc (an 87 sr5), i loathed those wheels. i painted them black to see if that made them any better but nope, still couldn't stand em. i think i finally sold them with some winter tires on them. here is a pic of that car with those wheels, third pic down in this post.

also, since you guys are keen on those wheels: i just remembered that one of my first cars was a 3rd gen tercel and it came with the same wheels. i have since seen other 3rd gens at the wreckers with those wheels too so if you are looking for them, that might help open up the search a bit.

Not a huge fan, but it's hard to find Toyota alloys here.
I've been in contact with the seller, I think we're working a deal on the wheels.

David, it's kind of the "any toyota alloys are better than none" for me, and we got them for "free" on Snap with the blown transmission car. I think they look better than no alloys at least, and we like the look:

I'm just looking for at least another "sawblade" as a spare. I'd like a set of the pizza cutter wheels too, but those are hard to find around here.
That's strange on the third gen tercels and those wheels, if you search car-part.com for third gens they did not come with alloys except for 87-88 and only "SW 4WD". Possible either someone swapped them onto your third gen, or the dealer had spares and put them on as an "upgrade"?

Re: 87 SR5 Near Portland, OR (Owner Parting Out)
i've seen them on lots of the third gens. considering the crossover of production years between the second gen wagons and third gen coupes and hatchbacks, i'm not surprised. this is by no means definitive evidence but here's a pic of a third gen on the wikipedia page sporting the late 80's alloys.

Thanks man. I do try to keep an eye out for later models, and even Mazda, Nissan, and BMW wheels that crossover. I've come close a few times, but never seem to find a complete set, or some other thing gets in the way of the deal. You know what they say, getting there is half the fun.

Someone wanna get me a headlight? I think my broken one is passenger side one.
It takes more fossil fuel resources to produce new vehicles than it would take to maintain and fuel any 70's or 80's vehicle for a million miles.

drege, the seller mentioned in another thread that the lights are already gone.

broken 87/88 headlights are so costly to replace and getting harder to find so i hope everyone who has them puts protective film on them. i did it on mine, and on my ae95 headlights too. i think it was only $10 for the stuff, and it's very easy to apply.
