not a tercel but i think it's too cool not to post here. most the RHD's are automatic so that makes this one pretty rare. a/c, power windows, bunch of recent work, nice contoured seats, special dash cluster with a bunch of different gauges, and i believe it will have the push button height control but i can't see it in the pics.

man, that's tempting.

*edit* just realized from the 'EFI-S' on the valve cover that this has the high performance version of the 4afe, the 4afhe. here's the info from wikipedia about it.

4A-FHE

Same as the first generation 4A-FE, only more aggressive tune for more output. Called an EFI-S engine.

Output:

110 PS (81 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 14.5 kg·m (142 N·m; 105 lb·ft) at 4,800 rpm (compression at 9.5:1)

Hey David. That looks pretty sweet kind of deal. If it was in Aus i would jump on it! Yeah it does say Height control on the back window. This looks like the top of the line version. Oil pressure gauge, alternator gauge etc. Looks like it has the climate control as well. Pity you don't have the parts car around.. I wonder what it would take to make this thing LHD. That high performance version is only 4kw higher than the normal. But I reckon all the parts would be consistent with the North American version. So now you can have the Tercel and the All-trac of your dreams!

glad you saw this, matt. i know you can understand how tempting this is to me. when i was first looking for a 4wd wagon, this was exactly what i was thinking about. i talked to a JDM importer but the total cost to get an ae95 here was $6000-$7000 and i couldn't afford or justify that. $2500 though, i definitely could...if i didn't already have both an ae95 and an al25. i'll still daydream about it though.

It'll be like a limo to the Terc I think!. The height control could get unreliable though. I wonder if it just defaults to standard road height if that it breaks down. All the other electronic stuff is pretty good on my car from 1988. it's the mechanical parts that wear out and need maintenance. Oiling the electric window tracks and central locking levers etc. Might be a good car to enjoy for a while and then flip. Doubt you would lose much money.
