Re: 83 Dlx, Seattle $2000
a non-functioning e-brake is a bigger deal than this seller, and a lot of people, think. without it, the rear brakes never adjust, which means no rear brakes.
i like the green, i wish they had kept it.

Even with a working e brake, rear brakes never adjust properly. Poor design.

Howdy!
The car is mine.
I didn't realize the price was set at 2k because I did the add on my phone.
1200 dollars!!
If you guys have any questions let me know I'd rather it go to someone on here.
As for the rear brakes what are you guys talking about? I have never heard of anything like that.
I had the brakes done at buckey's because I don't work on drum brakes.
Also I hate selling things on craigslist which is why I said the exterior was so bad so nobody was let down.
I can peel the black off if someone really wants the green again. Plasti dip peels off very easily.
The exterior body is fine just the color is bad.

The emergency brake on these cars indeed adjusts the rear drums.
What happened to the inner front marker lights?
If you are noticing temp issues, check your coolant religiously, you could have head gasket problems.
Fixed the topic title, too.

welcome, gavinator. why are you selling your terc? seems like you were a pretty big fan of the car.
as you drive, the brake material on the shoes wears down. with no adjustment, it gets to the point where, when you step on the brakes, the shoes move out towards the drum but no longer contact it. to counter this, there is an automatic adjuster back there that adjusts the shoes outward when you use the park brake.

I see, Well when Buckey's was done with it they said "Oh sorry, we thought it would have worked your cable must be stretched."
I don't really trust Buckey's so much I find it hard to believe the cable would be stretched beyond feeling any tension with the E-Brake.
I'm selling it because I'm due for a baby June 26 and already have a Toyota Supra! But I am a big fan. I love being able to jump in and it always starts when taking it out to the mountains to shoot. 3 cars is tooooo many. I'm in no rush and probably won't sell it to anyone except on here. Whenever I post old Toyota's to craigslist I always get the usual people, "What's a Carburetor?" They only want it because it's cheap.
P.S. I tried to make an account awhile ago but never got accepted by the Admins. So Thanks for the welcome!

I thought the adjusters"adjusted" when you depress the brakes in reverse as well?dlb wrote: there is an automatic adjuster back there that adjusts the shoes outward when you use the park brake.

I have the inner front marker pieces still. I just took them off when I painted the car, forgot to put them back on before assembling everything and just left them off.
Yea, It doesn't feel like a head gasket problem. I'm almost sure its the thermostat because if I turn the heater on full blast the creeping stops, and then the temperature will stay normal for however long I drive.

Alright, just thought I'd bring it up, I have two tercels with new radiators that are being a little funky temp wise, one I am sure is a head gasket... the other is on it's third thermostat...I'm not sure why it keeps eating thermostats.
