I have an 88 SR5 that is completely stock except for 14" rims. Does anyone have suggestions for a big 14" tire for snow/mud/sand that will fit a stock tercel that has not been lifted? Make? Model? Measurements? I am not concerned about speedo accuracy and am willing to eat some mpg's
Thanks!

195/70r14 fits without rubbing.
I just put a set of Discoverer M+S on my awd astro, and am very pleased with my first set of snows. These are similar and come in smaller sizes- http://us.coopertire.com/Tires/Winter/W ... S-T-2.aspx

Re: Big 14" tires
has anyone tried the BF Goodrich AT 195/75r14?
with no lift, would this tire rub?
overall diameter 25.5

Re: Big 14" tires
I have run 205/70/14 and they did rub even on a lifted tercel. So I would say that the width is a factor.

Re: Big 14" tires
I put a set of 195/70r14 gt radials before I lifted mine. Filled up the wheel well and rubbed a little on full turns and rubbed up top going over speed bumps till I lifted it. 195/75r14 will give you 3/8inch less clearance in the wheel well so they would definitely limit your turning radius a bit and rub up top. I haven't seen anything bigger than the 195/70r14 on a stock turt

Re: Big 14" tires
I've got 195/70/14's on mine, juuuuuuust barely rubs at full lock on the inner fender, but I can hit the bump stops on either end and not touch.
Re: Big 14" tires
I know it's a little late...but...I run these on my 86 sr5, stock. Rub at full lock and full compression front and rearpeculiarodor wrote:has anyone tried the BF Goodrich AT 195/75r14?
