Cool, thanks Petros. Just thought maybe I was having choke issue but it is running so well that I was not sure.
I actually only run 91 octane non-ethanol fuel in the Terc. We have it available at one station in town so that is where I fuel up. She deserves a tall cool glass of non-eth. Since running that fuel there has been a noticable difference in how she runs for sure.
I was looking at the FSM and noticed an automatic choke adjustment to lean or richen depending on if you turned it clockwise or counter clockwise (FU-21) but listed for a 3A, is that not on a 3AC set up? DLB told me that Canadian models have a choke adjustment...but not on fed 3AC's?
Peace

turtcel, the choke can be adjusted on all the stock carbs but the PITA difference is that its much easier on some canadian carbs. they use screws to set the automatic choke whereas all the others use rivets, so if you need to adjust or replace the auto choke on these ones you have to remove the carb, drill those rivets out, tap threads in, and get the appropriate screws. its really dumb. if it makes you feel any better though, the auto choke on my canadian 87 automatic is riveted. maybe they went to riveted chokes in canada for 87+? i dont know.

Re: High Idle staying up too long...TURTCEL
ok hey guys its been awhile .hope all is good in terclandia.
got a carb question that one of you might be able to help me with.
my engine is a 3A I have a sealed type carb so I only have that one idle adjustment screw .(the one in the middle passenger side ). somehow with a little help from a friend of the family the screw adjustment got unscrewed or screwed I should say .my question is : what is the start off point for the screw ? example : do I screw it all the way in then turn x amount off times then proceed with adjustments when engine warms up ?it seems when I tried to screw it in( til it stalled a little then back it off )it speeds up . and then when I try to back it off til it stalls a little it just keeps going and I stop for fear of the screw coming out . just want her royal highness "the tercy" to be the best she can be . thanks guys

that does not sound like an idle adjustment screw behavior. Could you perhaps find a picture or diagram of the carb somewhere on this forum and circle the actual thing you are adjusting?
or take a picture of it with your finger or a screwdriver pointing at it, and post it here.
Check for vacuum leaks and all the hoses are connected to their correct place using the vac diagram for your car. the regular idle ONLY is used after the engine is warmed up, and it should speed up when it is crewed in, and the engine slows down when it is backed out. If it does something different, than it is either not the idle adjustment you are turning, or something else is wrong with the carb since it should not act that way. you will have to find and fix it before you can get the idle set correctly.

might need brake pads. usual cause for grinding sound.

Yep or what used to be the brake pads .all meat on the pads was gone .metal on metal grinding rotor is grooved deeper than an old phonograph record. Problem solved
