Yep, that's my plan--I think I saw you post that idea somewhere else on the forum.

My friend who works in a fabrication shop just got back into town, so he's going to make me a little bracket. I've been using Keith's method just to get around, but the bellcrank is a bit too far forward, so I can't connect the AT kickdown linkage. I'll let you know when it's fixed. Even now, it's pretty fun just putzing around with the new carb (and recently rebuilt engine).

Now I've just got to track down a pesky oil leak--I've got my fingers crossed that it's the valve cover, but it sure doesn't look like it...
