tires size and ac compressor questions?

want to say hello to all my TR4 family members here,i just purchase a 14 alloy set from craiglist ,nice shape the person had it on 90 honda civic i think and i was woundering what size of tires i can put onn on those alloys without rubbing or touch the fenders?
also best place to buy a AC compressor for my 83 tr4?like part #or something ,thank you everyone out there and hope to keep those tr4 allive.i am downsize my TR4 fleet here ,just got my 83 daily driver ,86 complette for parts,81 old school from gottolovem which i say thank you again .my 85 caught on fire at the toyota shop after 2 weeks of sitting waiting for transmission to be put on.

Just to clarify Forrykitty took one of his cars to a shop to have the tranny installed they called him to say it "CAUGHT FIRE"

I hope the shop comensated you, it appears they really screwed up. I bet some newbie set something on the battery and arced it. These cars do not just catch on fire sitting there, it takes some fool trying really hard to cause that.

good tier size for 14" wheels is 185/60x14 or 185/65x14. gives the same rolling dia and no rubbing.

another reason to do your own work, it is very hard to find clean tercel4wd. those fools just took another one off the road by their carelessness.

they try to cover some part of my loss with like thousand box shop credit ,i been them customer for a while so never had any issue with those guys.but i had the transmission pulled out from another shop before this happnt so they left wire disconect and very poor mechanic skills ,so anyway i pay 2 K for this tr4 in great shape with AC profesional convert to R134 ,no dents,0 rust.like new interior ,168 k miles,but the car has bad front diff which i got one from gottolovem ,and bad rack and pinion this is how i got the car.it was a beautiful 85 TR4, Now i got my 83 left ,in good shape from ashland oregon sunroof,cruise,alloy,that will be my daily driver this winter and still hunt for a nice exemple of tr4.

actually it looks like this one could be fixed, all the metal looks okay, but there will be a lot of plastic and rubber parts to replace, plus paint. and why is the window broken?

I would say they owe you big time, this is really a bad screw up, they are direly to blame, they should compensate you.

window is broken when the fire truck show up ,they broke the window.i would say ,yes it can be fixed with parts like new complette dashboard,new engine and acc,new driver side window,bumper etc,everthing else still great shape.but again lots of hours and hours project.i dont think is worth it.

I don't think you'd need a new engine. Just new seals, sensors, gaskets. Maybe the external stuff.

sorry to hear about the damage to your car

if you scouted for parts would the garage cover the cost and replacement of the burnt ones as an act of good will? you might have to negotiate. I'm sure between all the members here we would have all the missing parts. perhaps do some of the easier stuff yourself at there garage like replace the panels, kights, dash, painting and cleaning but maybe they would replace the electrical parts? The car looks like its really nice otherwise. Good luck. hope it works out for you.
