Has anyone removed a door-handel from a door? After removing the two atachment bolts,disconecting(unscrewing)the linkage seems to be a real puzzle :unsure: ... :angry: ... :( !!!

I have done it, and it's not that bad once you figure out what's going on ....and at this point I cant' remember what it was I had to do to get it out. The best thing I can recommend is find one at the junkyard you can learn on....tear into it and have fun ! That's what I've done for a couple different projects.

I'm sorry I can't remember what I did to get the linkage off. If I get a chance in the next couple of days, I'll go by my local junkyard and refresh my memory, and report back to you here.
1984 Tercel 4wd Dlx. - 192K miles.
1985 Tercel 4wd SR5 - 185K miles (not running)
1986 Tercel 4wd Dlx - 210K miles (dd)

Only 3 to go for the whole set ! lol

Thanks Mootsman...Ive gotten as far as detaching them...but there dosnt seem to be enuff clearance to unscrew them from the linkage :unsure: I'll have to try again :)

The plastic clip flips so that it unclips from the rod, then the rod moves sideways out of the hole. Sometimes it can be stubborn in coming out after the clip is undone. A flathead screwdriver carefully used can help. There are no tricks that I'm aware of, just fiddle with it until it pops out.
