I have done it, and it's not that bad once you figure out what's going on ....and at this point I cant' remember what it was I had to do to get it out. The best thing I can recommend is find one at the junkyard you can learn on....tear into it and have fun ! That's what I've done for a couple different projects.
I'm sorry I can't remember what I did to get the linkage off. If I get a chance in the next couple of days, I'll go by my local junkyard and refresh my memory, and report back to you here.
