I have one bear head that needs all the valve guides replaced, the valve seats reground. I may have a spare rocker shaft valves, springs and retainers too, but not sure they would be good to use (have some really worn out ones, not sure if I have any good ones). You can have the bare head understaning it needs to be rebuilt.

I also have a used complete head that came off a high miles engine, but a running one. It is complete, but it should also be rebuilt. You can have that one for $50. And I have one that is ported and polished, and has the head shaved to raise the compression ratio, and a delta cam performance regrind with recent stem seals installed. you can buy that one for $100, but realize you will have to use premium fuel if you use this head because it will raise your compression, but it will also deliver you more power.

No matter what head you use, make sure you use my head gasket installation procedure. Also, I highly recommend putting in new exhaust valves no matter what head you use, they do not cost much and they tend to have a limited life before they strart to break down, sometimes even breaking a piece off. If it is a large piece that breaks off, very severe engine damage can result (I have seen it more than a few times). So go with new exhaust valves. Intakes are fine to resurface and use over.

good luck.

I dug it out of the shed, I knew I had one. Looks to be in good shape, took it off a running car with a blown transmission. I would like 50 for this one. I am in Monroe. It needs gasket scraped off of the bottom & the exhaust areas, otherwise pretty clean.

i am interested in the ported, polished and shaved head. is it ready to just be put back together and slapped back in or would it still need some machine work? i got a virgin head form synth but i was planning on having all that machine work done anyways so if your head is ready to go i will take it.

yes, it is ready to go, other than a good cleaning. It came off a running engine, it was not long ago that I replaced the valve stem seals. than a piston failed in the block so I had no compression in once cylinder. so the head is good.

besides the port and polish, the combustion champers have all been matched and also have the combustion chamber grooves already in them. I also sorted the valve spring set by selecting the best 8 of 24 valves springs that I had from other engines. This is as measured by their installed seat pressure (you measure the spring load at the installed spring height). I picked the 8 strongest springs. It also had new valve guides and exhaust valves perhaps 5 years ago, all are still good.

This head has lots of time and money invested into it. I have no plans to use it, so it is yours to purchase.
