1985 Tercel SR5 4WD wagon, 301K
1987 Tercel DLX 4WD wagon, 6-speed manual, 277K -- got this one running Jan. 2015 (had been sitting for 2 years); this has been my primary daily-driver since 2016

looks like a 2wd grill but the strut mount is oriented in the 4wd position. curious.

Actually, the strut is oriented in the power steering position. Oriented the other way, there would be less caster ie easier to steer (what you'd want with manual steering.)
if it aint there, there's a good chance it won't break!
83 SR5 Silver/Blue (Snowmobile/work beater)-totaled but drivable
85 SR5 Blue
88 SR5 White (the 'good' one)-not anymore-totaled

you're right! i had to look it up to verify.

i'm still confused by something though. it says the orientation with the empty bolt hole at the back is w/o power steering, and the one with the empty bolt hole at the front is w/ power steering and 4wd. so what about manual steering and 4wd?

I have to go look at my cars now. I thought all the struts were mounted the same too!

I've got 2 '87 wagons- one 4wd and one fwd. Both have p/s and both have the struts oriented the same way.
