Face lift corner lights.

Hello, just wondering if any other Toyota shares the same corner lights as the 88 shape Tercels?

The '88 Tercel wagon has the same shape as all of the Tercels from '83 to 86, but only the '87 and '88 corner lights are the same in North America because that is the only two years we got the composite headlights. You can swap the grill, headlights (and trim) with the corner lights together as a complete set across the whole production run of wagons from '83 to '88, but the compostie headlights ( and matching corrner lights and grill) only came on the '87 and '88 model years.

the 2wd sedan and hatch back changed to a completely different body (and engine) style in '87 and '88. So almost none of the body, engine or other parts between the '87 and new Tercels are the same as the early model Tercel and the '83-88 wagons.

I am not aware of any other models of any car that uses the same corner marker lights. Though I have been kind of looking to see if any of the modern one piece molded all plastic headlight housings (that also usually have indicator lights built into them) on other models of cars can be adapted to the old Tercel style headlight and corner light openings. I kind of have an idea of making new, lighter, front and rear bumpers out of foam and fiberglass to lighten the car, reduced drag and improve the looks (by getting rid of that big "snow plow" federal 5 mph bumper). So newer, brighter and lighter head lamps would be a nice change to go with it. But adapting them to fit might be more work than it is worth.

Thank you very much for the info sir, very handy to know. I think I have found the correct corner light in NZ, its amazingly hard to find parts for these in NZ.

If you are in NZ there may be some variation to what I wrote above, which is for the North American domestic market. All would be interchangabe across the years no matter, as a comlpete set.

To the best of my knowledge Tercel 4wd outside of North America (and some carib sprinter models in Japan) used the same clear quarter lights through all the model years. They are fairly easy to find in Australia still. Although the look similar to AE82 Corolla hatch they are in fact different and not shard with any other model.
