Just found out from the local AutoPro store that in the entire of Australia, there is only NINE of the radiator fan temperature switches that the tercel uses! Well, eight now...
Mind. Blown.

Good idea Petros, might do that actually, thanks. I've got the local AutoPro to order one in and it'll be at the shop tomorrow for me to collect, might get them to order in a spare definitely.
IDK whether the 9 is for the AutoPro chain in Australia or the whole supply line in Oz but still an impressively small number either way!
And I liked the gif too aha.
Also, any idea if Mattel has been active recently? only ask because I PM'd him re: his carb setup cos he's got a Weber in Australia

Aw poo. Okay aha, All I wanted to ask him was where he bought his weber from being in Australia like me. I literally can not find anything about doing a swap down here in aus so if I do go ahead with one it'll be fairly blind. I am pretty sure I have found that I need to get a DFEV not a DGEV but then need to find a mount adapter for it, and a throttle linkage too... I seem to recall someone did a swap and used the linkage from the factory carb? Anyway, I was looking at getting this adapter plate and then buying a DFEV locally, but I'm still left with the linkage dilemma. I probably should jump back to the old thread I had on it instead of here, but any ideas maybe?
Thanks!

Only Oz distributor: http://www.weberperformance.com.au/ It is in Braeside, VC.
It does not show a kit for the Tercel, but possibly the one for the 4AC can fit/be adapted.
Bigga bucks Down Under, though! Up here the kits are USD 300 or less!
Again - call the place and explain.
T4WD augury?

Replied in other thread. Contacted the Australian distributor, and being in Braeside VIC they're in the same state as me, which is a plus for postage if I do get one from them.
And yeah, kits are VERY expensive here down under, which is why I'm kinda hoping that the DGEV would fit cos I can get it from the US and still have it cheaper than getting it over here!

if you can find a the right size weber, even used, from any source, you make it work. The jetting, linkage and even the adapter plate you can fab yourself. the adapter is not difficult to make using a few simple hand tools like a drill, file, hack saw, etc. a big vise helps but is not necessary. You just need block of aluminum the right size.
