So I'm 95% sure that in rebuilding my 4AC the oil pickup for the 4AC was used. And now, I can't seem to find the pickup from the 3AC. This is the only thing holding me back from finishing my rebuild. Does anyone have an extra oil pickup from their 3AC laying around, or a scrap motor they can pull from one? Or, does anyone know a part number for this so I can try to find and order one online?
Thanks guys!

Re: WANTED: 3AC Oil Pickup
Well what a coincidence, I just pulled the blown motor, took it apart, and the oil pickup looks fine (needs cleaning).

Re: WANTED: 3AC Oil Pickup
From what I can tell it blew either because Jiffy Lube forgot to put oil in it, or the oil had not been changed in so long, changing it knocked a bunch of crud loose which blocked oil passages? Little old lady who was presumably the only owner took lots of short trips in 25 years to only get 61k miles? I may blow $10 on a carfax sometime to be curious.
I'll post a picture later of the pistons.
BB, how does $20 shipped sound? Looks like a new one is $33 + shipping at rockauto. Just PM me. I may not be able to clean and ship it out until Monday, got company coming tomorrow (Friday)

Re: WANTED: 3AC Oil Pickup
if it ran dry it should have no affect on the pick-up. If it was circulating metal particles as the engine was disintegrating, it may be contaminated, but nothing a good cleaning will not remove. soak in degreaser, clean off with solvent, than wash in detergent soap and hot water, use a bore brush (like a small bottle brush) in the tube. Blow off with compressed air. Than you can even wash it in the dishwasher for a good final cleaning. Or you can pay a machine shop to hot tank it, but not really worth the trouble.
Actually this should be done with any pick-up, and even oil pan, of questionable or unknown origin.
You do not want fine metal particles circulating in your new engine.
