87 4wd 5 speed tercel wagon Nashville TN $800

Hello. I have a 1987 tercel wagon for sale.

5 speed manual 4wd

It has been lifted 2" and had larger tires put on.

Engine has 245k.

I replaced the transmission about 5,000 miles ago. The trans was said to have between 40k and 60k miles when it went in. It has a new clutch.

Timing belt was replaced about 3000 miles ago.

It has pretty new starter, starts great. Smells like gas.

needs brakes and rotors, seems to rattle a bit on the road.

has electric sunroof and roof rack

drivers side window doesn't roll up, manual windows.

Coolest car in my town hands down. I can't bear to part with it. I had plans of fixing it's little problems and converting it to electric one day, but I am getting into the construction business and I need a truck FAST. I know it's got a lot more life in it. It just needs someone with a little time to put into it.

I do not know what his issue is, there is some with an old fashioned seance of privacy, that some how telling what it sold for was some kind of private information. But there have been more than a few used car dealers I have seen that will advertise a T4wd for weeks (as if it was still available). Apparently they were surprised at the amount of interest in it, and leave the ad up weeks after he sold it, just to get people to his lot. Telling interested buyers when someone arrived that he "just sold it".

i take a look for another forum member on that 86 for sale in boise,for 1200 price negotiable,when i meet the person ,the price was no negotiable anymoore.cause ,people has too much interest in his car,i was like ok fine no problem,wasnt worth no moore than 600 anyway,rack and pinion bad,front brakes bad.rust,interior poor shape.anyway people know those tr4 start to have value but doesnt meen any tr4 any shape

you can still buy fixers for the scrap metal price of about $200-300. one with a good body and good paint is worth more and well worth it, but beaters should be cheap. so they are not that rare yet. hardly worth restoring, not a big collector's market yet for these cars, they are loved for their economy, and the reliable and practical utility. If it needs too many repairs, there is no economy. Maybe some day, but not anytime in the near future.

here is an interesting Jay Leno Garage episode where Jay buys an "outlaw" 1957 highly modified Porsche (which is a collectable car). He points out that the car was not worth anything because it was too far gone to restore. I used to own a 1961 (very similar) and would have loved to do this to mine, but even than there were whiners complaining I did not have the original bumpers, carpet, etc. (the old drum brakes and the early suspension was not exactly a very good design, nor the early engine), so this is the kind of creative rebuilding that I think makes the car more valuable. I doubt our car will ever be worth that much, but it is fun to watch the transformation. He never states what he paid for the car, for the amount of work he put into it I doubt he made a lot of money, but this might be a cottage industry if you like tinerking with fun old classic cars.

So sorry if I offended anyone. I was just being honest.. the car was no longer available. I didn't list a price because I really wasn't sure what it was worth and no-one had made any offers yet.

I had thought the car was committed to a trade for a scooter with an old friend of mine.

Turns out he backed out of the trade due to some unfortunate financial circumstances.

The car is for sale again. I need it OUTTA HERE! $800 dollars OBO.
