You need to wait for someone else to chime in is the tranny i sent you the top photo?
I'm no expert but i think that large ball bearing is missing balls

Yeah your tranny is the top one. The large bearing is toasted. I removed the last of the small metal strips that hold the bearings in place. Bunch of it was in the bottom of the tranny, both sides by the internals and by the 5th gear.

This is what I found when I got it opened. I guess the rattling around sound was coming from the large bearing cover that was laying in the bottom of the housing.

Currently have everything hooked up. Started Rudy while up on jack stands and in neutral the wheels still spin. Is this normal at first? Couldn't get it to shift into 5th gear. Gonna take it off stands and take for short drive I guess..

Re: My tercel has an issue and I don't know what to do
It is normal for the wheel to spin while in neutral when there is no pressure to stop it. You should be able to just stop it with your hand. My experience when I swapped my clutch out on my Terc.

Re: My tercel has an issue and I don't know what to do
Your last picture was of internal trans parts that are wasted and need to be replaced, and than you say you "have everything hooked up". Are you missing a step here, did you replace the trans, or rebuild the one you have? I hope you did not put that one with the pictures back in it.
If you now have a good trans in it, I would say this is normal, the heavy gear oil drag on the trans gear clusters likely would make them turn. You should be able to hold them from rotating however. If not it is stuck in gear.

Re: My tercel has an issue and I don't know what to do
I mailed him a trany with a bad 5th gear the plan was for him to transfer the 5th gear off his trashed tranny(the one in the photo) to the one that i removed from my daily driver because i blew out 5th teaching my kid to drive.

Re: My tercel has an issue and I don't know what to do
Ok, took the car off the stands. Took it for a short test drive. It ran good, tough to get into 5th gear at first but now is doing fine. 4th was a little tricky sometimes the first trip. Now everything seems good to go. Took it for another 30 minute round trip shifted good. I have developed a slight hesitation that I am working on now. I don't know if gas started to go bad, or what I got seafoam in the tank, top off with fresh gas and am seafoaming through the carb and brake booster hose. Hope this cleans that back up. I don't know if I messed up something when I changed distributor cap, I didn't think that I changed or moved anything. Idles fairly smooth, but while driving the car feels like a stutter, also going to recheck vacuum lines as I know I accidentally pulled some off with my arms while doing other work. I want to give everyone that has helped me out on this project a HUGE THANK YOU!! I would not have been able to get this done by myself, and everyone was right it does feel good to have taken on this project and for it to be a success.

SWEET that's awesome
I would double check the fluid level in a couple days just to be safe.
As to the hesitation check all the obvious stuff vac lines, plug wires, etc.
Could be that it just needs to be driven a bit to clear everything up my car does not like to sit for to long before it runs a little wonky for a day or two.

Re: My tercel has an issue and I don't know what to do
Ok, yesterday the car was stuttering bad. SO I checked all hoses, plugs, wires etc. Put my old distributor cap back on. It ran so much worse, kept dying, smelt funny. Pulled old cap back off and started looking around. The rotor inside was messed up. It was kind of chewed up and it had a groove wore into it. When I first removed the cap the other day a bunch of stuff fell out, the dust cover must have fallen apart and was sitting inside rubbing the rotor. When I removed and cleaned out all that busted plastic it must have allowed the rotor to start wobbling when it spun. The car seemed to run great last night on the short test run. I will see how it does today on my commute.

Is there any lateral movement in the shaft? There should be very very little if any.
If you need another dissy let me know i have extras.
An extra dissy is one of the best extra spare parts you can carry with you.
Sounds like you have a bad bearing in the dissy or perhaps you got the cap on a little wonky.
smelled funny? Can you decribe the smell? Electric, fuel, oil, plastic.

Re: My tercel has an issue and I don't know what to do
the smell was odd not really plastic or anything similar. More similar to a odd exhaust where you know that something's not right. I did not notice a lot of play but then again I don't think I was really focusing on that either. Ran real good yesterday 36 miles each way. The old rotor was much more loose on the shaft than the new one. I wouldn't mind having a spare dizzy though. I got away with a dumb mistake; I let my mechanic's stethoscope arch the cap. Shocked the tar out of my hand, but not my head or ears. Scared the crap out of me...
