Doesn't happen all the time, happens when its depressed. It makes a sharp metallic snap sound, almost like a spring getting caught and releasing. Very loud
checked underneath but to no avail, both springs look fine and don't appear to be catching on anything
Any idea?
Thanks
Peter

does it sound like it's at your feet inside the car or underneath the car, in the bellhousing?
does it happen as the pedal is being pushed down, when it is at the floor, or when the pedal is being let up?

Re: clutch pedal makes a sharo metallic snapping sound
do you feel anything at the clutch petal when it makes the noise? how old is the clutch?
sometimes the interal spring in the clutch can get fatigued and crack, and will make noises when it is depressed. There is also a small return spring on the clutch yoke that could be broken, and there is a clip that holds the throw out bearing to clutch yoke that may have broke and is getting caught on something. these last two are of little consequence and can be replaced when you need to replace the clutch.
if it drives fine I would just ignore it until it either causes a problem or gets so annoying you have to change it. Better buy a clutch kit to have it handy so you will be ready when the time comes.

since I manually (with my hands)adjusted the clicking plastic piece attached to the pedal assembly.it hasn't made that noise in a couple of months .
