window tint on rear defroster

Post by Gottolovem »

I think i already know the answer to this but has anyone ever successfully retinted there rear hatch without destroying there defroster?
The tint on my new car is bubbling and i want to fix it i suspect that the bubbles are from the defroster in the first place but i'm not sure there not at the little wires!
Are new "stick on" defrosters available?
This car in not a t4 but a Ae-82 hatch back i tried to ask over at there forum but no luck.

When it comes to car forums tercel4wd.com RULES THE WORLD
Here is a link however to a kinda cool time lapse build of a twin engine half mr2 half corolla gts.http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sCZ2RICntUE

I want to condemn whoever put the tint on there in the first place. Have not gotten around to seeing if I can get it off the wires. It is brittle and baked on now.

I tinted mine 2 years ago , and havent had any problems with it bubleing or delaminating, I would think that a hair dryer would be helpful to remove the film Larry

Mine is so crusted on a hair dryer doesn't even dent it!

i removed tint from a hatch window by starting at a corner, warming it a bit with a hair dryer and pulling it back VERY slowly. i managed to do so without damaging any more defogger lines but it took a long time. almost as bad as prepping for painting/bodywork! no, not that bad, but along those lines anyway.
