my wife and i spent 2 weeks on kauai just over a year ago. her folks have a place there with a 2wd '91 nissan pathfinder. the pathfinder has all the horrible fuel consumption of an SUV but none of the off road capabilities. i would love to replace it with a t4 but the island is really quite small so i don't know how many t4s are kicking around, and barging one over from another island is prohibitively expensive. but man, having one there would be awesome. there is lots of off-roading to cool, remote locations and hiking trails on that island.
