Update--- Installed the left rear strut last night. Old one was in same shape as right side. Strut mount and spring were both OK. No more bangin' and thumpin' now! Car also sits level now. Hopefully you'll have the same results, Paul.

On a sadder note- got a new "challenge" now- engine oil leak. Turns out the oil pan is leaking due to rust holes (Ford-style.) Had the same problem with Old Gold AFTER i had de-commissioned her- couldn't have it leaking oil all over my new driveway. Swapped out the oil pan and drove it probably 10 miles (over a period of 3-4 years) before pulling the engine and gutting the car. Probably should just stuff that engine into the "new" car but i don't feel like messing with the steel a/t cooling lines- they look REAL nasty-rusty. I'll probably just swap out the oil pan. Oh well....
if it aint there, there's a good chance it won't break!
