sounds like a good deal, a clutch is only about $100, but a fair amount of work. at 110k miles, that is likely the factory clutch in it!

Marlinh,

You need tempting? a nice rust free low miles tercel that you can easily fix? and less than a days drive from you? what are you waiting for?

This will make a nice Tercel4wd for someone if not you. What are they worth in your part of the world? Is it worth getting to resell? I do not think you need any more spare Tercels, but it would be worth fixing this car.

Personally if it is not an SR5 I would pass on it since I do not care for the plastic seats.

well if nobody want this,i may go get it,but like Petros sad no much interest for plastic seats and that simple dash with no tachometer ,i like the way they designe the seats on sr5 like RECARO style

You should go get that car there is money to be made with it!
In my area it would sell for between 2,000 and 2,500 (with the clutch repaired of course)
I bet he would take 1,000 cash

heh, heh...Marlinh, you know your really want this car. you will not sleep well at night until is in your possession...it is calling you to come and get it. You are already calculating the costs and the final value, time involved, where you can put it until the snow melts. Like the sirens song, that lonely Tercel is calling out to you. heh, heh <wink>

I've been living vicariously through Marlene's sleuthing but this one is so damned tempting.
I wonder if it's worth the divorce that would ensue??
Still tempted, though.
I could always find another wife :) but a rust free turtle, not so likely.
