I've put at least 20 miles on the car before the engine change and maybe 3 after.
Power is low, but it isn't the reason why I think it is running only on three
There is literally no change at all with how the motor runs when I remove that plug. unlike the other three. Idle also seems rough.
which confuses me... the plug is colored like it would be if it is firing, yet it doesn't seem to be..

Gottoloveem, Did you find out anything on cylinder #2?
I put in the new plug wires and am getting a really strong spark, but the cylinder doesn't appear to be firing. There is evidence of combustion on the plug.

Anyone willing to pull the first plug wire while the engine is running and tell me what happens? There is literally no change at all for me.

Also, I drove around the block yesterday for about 5 mins, after letting the car idle in the driveway for two.... the lower radiator hose was still cold, but the top was way hot, along with the motor... How long should it take for the thermostat to open?? I'm trying to locate the box that the thermostat came in so I can see what temp it's rated for. I really don't want to blow a head gasket on a new motor.

My #2 has great spark but the cylinder is not firing.
I havent spent much time on it due to other projects. When i pull #2 wire there is no change in the way it runs?
I will try another plug(doubt that's it) then pull valve cover and inspect valve springs etc.
I have driven the car 100 miles over donner summit and the oil has no fuel in it the coolant is fine And no visible smoke the valves is all i can think of.

Weird, I smell gas in my oil...
What happens on your daily driver when you pull the first plug?
I'm getting super nervous. I think I'll buy a compression tester tomorrow.

Well compression reading will have to wait. I left my tools at my friends house and I have to leave for church. I do need to redo my valve cover anyways so good idea.
It leaks a little bit towards the front. I didnt use any RTV???? not sure if I should or shouldn't.

Cylinders
#1 145
#2 150
#3 145
#4 145

All checked with the motor warmed and throttle open.

So it looks like the compressions are all pretty much the same. keep in mind all gauges read differently.
Now check out the plugs!
In order from 1-4
Image
See how wet and black the first one is?
I'm getting a strong spark...maybe it inst ignition related.
The last motor did the same thing too.
