Thermostat gasket

Post by tercle »

I never liked the gaskets with the Chinese double-sided tape on one side.

The standard Tercel thermostat gasket they gave me looked weak. I was going to make my own, but...

I picked one out of a parts book - C25163 victor reinz.
It's a Mopar gasket.

No double-sided tape and more gasket material.

I was always annoyed as well by the thin paper gaskets that didn't work. I recently replaced the thermostat in my 2WD '81 using just silicone-type gasket maker. So far it's been a week and it's not leaking, which is better luck than I've ever had with the paper gaskets.

Installed it yesterday.
Nice fit, in my opinion.

Computers say it won't fit a Tercel.
