Anyone want to buy my Tercel 4wd in Oregon?

I have a 1985 Tercel SR5 4wd that isn't quite running. Overall in decent shape cosmetically and has all recent tune up parts. I believe it needs to be timed after the old owner did a poor job. $400 takes it and makes you happy... AND makes my wife happy too.

Your ad is actually already on the forum a few posts down. Any chance you are willing to sell some parts off of it? Does it have a rear cargo cover?

If I was closer I would tune it and drive home.

Once I got a car that supposedly had melted main fuse box the guy went and got another fuse box then decided the job was to hard I offered him 200 and he took it.

Uppon arrival it was clear that there was only one melted wire so I promptly paid him pulled the wires out of the bottom of the fuse box put new ends on replaced the fuse left it laying outside the box and it fired right up.
Best buy ever sold it for 2 grand it still running around town today.

I would consider selling parts off of it, but would much rather see someone buy it who wants to get it running. I don't have the rear lid unfortunately. I love Tercel wagons but can't afford the project. I don't have a timing light or enough to pay someone to do it. I bought it from the previous owner to help him out thinking that I could get my money back. It quit running after he replaced the timing belt. I noticed the top sprocket was loose, and it sounds out of time.

You can rent a timing light from most auto parts stores!

Just figure, if you get it timed and running, you can sell it for a lot more!

Yeah, I agree. I've never actually done the timing on one of these, so I am a little nervous to do so. I guess I can't make it any worse than it already is, right? I suppose I will go rent a light tomorrow...

If that belt is on wrong you will never be able to time it right.
Double check the belt it's not hard use this forum for instructions search timing belt in repair guides and don't let it intimidate you.
YOU CAN DO IT then you will want to keep the car.

Timed it and she runs like a champ! My girl is going to clean the interior and I think I will put it back up for sale for $700. Thanks for all the responses!
