'83 Tercel SR5

Post by heryrg »

Hey guys I'm thinking about selling my beast :(
Car has NO LEAKS, always taken care of, original paint(touched up in spots) burns maybe a 1/4 qt per oil change. Has the weber carb on it. Bartos lift with kyb Gas-adjust's. Clean inside. Biggers wheels and tires.
Has 217k on it, i'm almost the second owner. Bought the car from a toyota mech (had 150k), who bought it from the dealer he worked after it was traded in.
It has some damage on the back passenger side, grazed a sign while avoiding a tbone in winter. Back passenger door only opens from inside. I keep planning on fixing it but never got there, might fix then relist.

I'm not sure about price since the light damage. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

it's really tough to give a price but considering the rust, body damage, and burning oil, i would say you might ask $800-$1200.

i say keep it. why are you thinking of selling? in CO, you must get enough snow to warrant having such an economical yet capable 4wd.

What rust?
I cleaned and resprayed everywhere where there was rust, whole trunk and around fenders, so it's rust-free except where the damage is.
It doesn't actually smoke or 'burn' oil, just have to add about 1/4 qt every 4k or so, i think this is quite impressive for age and mileage.

Body damage is the real bummer.
I think once i fix it, $2k is realistic

Selling it because i want something nicer 8)
Looking at 99 Montero endeavor, with stock locking diffs and 7passengers

The tercel is a great car; offroad, snow, mud; deals with it like boss.

sorry, i thought that was rust on both driver side fenders, plus i'm cheap. if you get the damage repaired, i agree you might get $2000. it just depends on the tercel market in your area.

Hey littleRed, not sure yet if going to sell.
I think I'll fix the damage first then polish it out and retouch the paint on the fenders, flaked off when i first power washed after respray :/
I'll post here first when/if i decide top sell
Thanks guys
