Oh you have one too? Yeah I'm sourcing a spare since the auto is probably the weakest link in the car!

Phew, yeah. What is your price and your guess on freight for a transmission? Or what does it weigh and I can try to find out. Does storing these transmissions for a long time cause any seals to go bad?

LittleRed4wd caught my eye cause he's within easy driving distance, I missed that you had replied to the thread too

How's $100 for the trans sound- it came out of the '87 i recently converted to m/t and has a REAL 138k on the clock. Shifted fine (i put 200-250 miles on it before performing the "sex change")

Asfor shipping, my guess is it would have to be shipped on a pallet by truck- probably 100-120 lbs with the pallet.

Let me know if you're interested- would hate to sell it to the junkman for weight!

Rich.

pm me your shipping info and i'll get the stuff on it's way- you only need the coolant overflow bottle- not the washer tank too- right?

Definitely interested. Does being stored for any length of time affect any of the seals?

I'll calculate shipping to see how crazy it may be. Would you need a liftgate? Business or residence?

Apparently UPS/FedEx will ship them too, hmm. 150 pound limit for fedex and ups, they would be the cheapest!

Fed Ex has a ground freight service that is usually the cheapest for heavy items. I shipped a honda CRX engine to TX for about $120. You need to build a sturdy box that holds it securely (use bolts to hold it in place), and than wrap it with heavy cardboard. They charge an extra fee if the box is anything other than cardboard, no matter how much it weighs.

If that's the case I'll throw in extra for time and materials if you'd be willing to build a box for it, cause trucking it on a pallet seems like it would be insane cost wise from what checking I could do. $300 on up for freight! So $100 for the transmission, $100 for your time/materials (or whatever it takes) then shipping should add up to $300-350?

I could send you a check ahead of time then you could take your time, I'm in no rush! I don't want to make you go too much out of your way.

Will see what some of these companies reply with quotes tomorrow!

Edit: Oh, it would apparently need drained of fluid, I guess you could cheat and just do a partial drain
